Set made from a tablecloth

Set, shirt and shorts, made from a discarded, hand-embroidered linen tablecloth.

Details:

• Hand-embroidered linen
• Buttons salvaged from the stock of the 'Coração Alecrim' store in Porto when it closed down
• The tablecloth had a rather large tear in the fabric where a patch was made with leftover tablecloth pieces (see photos)
• As the tablecloth was not big enough, we had to make the sleeves with another fabric (tea towel) leftover from another project
• Unique, handmade piece

• Hand wash or delicate cycle (max. 30°C)
• Low spin
• Mild soap
• Wash inside out
• Dry in the shade
• Iron at low temperature (with protection for embroidery)

Please note:

• Grita works with used and discarded household fabrics. The fabrics often have some wear and tear and signs of use that we try to conceal or integrate as best as possible.
• This means that some pieces require a lot of work in terms of sanitization and "restoration" of the fabrics and embroideries.
• On Grita's page, you won't find gender references. We create our pieces without thinking about who will wear them, because everyone wears what they want.
• For this reason, we also don't follow certain sewing conventions (e.g., buttons on the left or right). We do it randomly or on the side that enhances the beauty of the shirt.
• As these are old fabrics and especially if they are embroidered, it is very important to follow the washing recommendations.
