Set made from a tablecloth

Top and shorts set made from a discarded, hand-embroidered linen tablecloth.

Details:

• Hand-embroidered linen
• Eco-friendly buttons made in Portugal
• The tablecloth had many incomplete embroideries and rotten threads (see photos). New embroideries were made, totaling 4 hours of embroidery alone.
• The crochet picot trim was kept at the base of the shorts and top.
• Unique, handmade piece

Care instructions:

• Hand wash or delicate cycle (max. 30°C)
• Low spin
• Neutral soap
• Wash inside out
• Dry in the shade
• Iron at low temperature (with protection over embroidery)

Please note:

• Grita works with used, discarded household fabrics. The fabrics often show some wear and signs of use, which we try to disguise or integrate as best as possible.
• This means that some pieces require a lot of work from us in terms of sanitization and "restoration" of the fabrics and embroideries.
• On Grita's page, you won't find references to gender. We create our pieces without thinking about who will wear them, because everyone wears what they want.
• Also for this reason, we do not follow certain sewing conventions (e.g., buttons on the left or right). We place them randomly or on the side that enhances the beauty of the shirt.
• Since these are old fabrics and especially if they are embroidered, it is very important to follow the washing recommendations.
